There are two buses that run through Freeland. (There is no bus service on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.) The number 11 bus runs to and from between Oxford and Witney via Hanborough. Here is the timetable. In Oxford, the bus leaves from Castle Street (stop E2). This bus passes the stop opposite Oxford railway station a few minutes later. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the stop opposite The Oxfordshire Yeoman pub in Freeland. Cross the road and walk past the church to the Old Parsonage drive on the left.
There is another bus number 233 that runs to and fro between Witney and Burford, passing by the Hanborough train station and also past the end of the road to Freeland (Wroslyn Road), though it does not come into Freeland. It is about a 20-25 minute walk from the end of Wroslyn road to the Old Parsonage, at a medium walking pace. Here is the timetable of the 233.
The nearest railway station, about three miles from the Old Parsonage, is Hanborough on the Cotswold Line Service of Thames Trains. Here is the timetable.
Taxis may be ordered in advance by telephone: 07979 507535.
To reach us by car from the A40 (whether Oxford or Witney direction) turn off the A40 on the road signposted Freeland (opposite the Evenlode Pub near Eynsham). Continue along this winding road for about 2 miles until you come to the village hall on the right and then a little further on, the The Oxfordshire Yeoman pub and then the Anglican church on the left. The entrance to the Old Parsonage is just past the Anglican church. There is parking in front of the house. Here is the map.
